Saturday, September 3rd - This weekend, the Central Panthers Cross Country team competed in The Mook XC Invite at Alderbrook Golf Course In Tillamook, OR.
Central had a huge performance from Ty Cirino breaking the old school record of 15:25 by 9 seconds with a time of 15:16 in the 5k. “This is a huge accomplishment for me especially since I am just a sophomore and I’ve still got two more seasons after this to keep improving. I’ve got great coaching and great teammates always pushing me and motivating me to always be at my best at practice and in the races,” Cirino stated.
Another great performance was from fellow sophomore, Aidan Wendring, the now 3rd all-time at CHS with a time of 15:58. This is the fastest time, excluding Ty Cirino, since 1985 for Central. There was also a breakout time from senior Alfredo Ortiz who ran an 18:26. The Panthers had personal records all across the board. The new transfer from Pendelton, Atticus Tesch, ran a new best of 19:40. Freshman Thomas Butler ran a new huge PR of 19:28.
In the JV race, Central had two top-10 finishers. In sixth place, Adrian Pemberton came through the finish line at 20:37, and Right behind him was teammate Keagan Korbe, finishing in ninth with a time of 20:52.
The Women's team also had a great day. The current Women’s 3k record holder, Hannah Gilbert, junior, had a new amazing PR with a time of 21:07 in the 5k. Another amazing personal best from senior Tatum Hutcheson with a new time of 27:53. Great all-around performance from Central Cross Country this past weekend.
