29 September, 2023- Due to a wave of sickness, the Varsity football team had to forfeit the West Albany game today.
As per OSAA rule 37a, only the team receiving the forfeit victory can reschedule a replacement game against a different school. This would therefore lead to Central keeping the loss and dropping their record to 1-4. This now puts the Panthers as eighth in the Mid-Willamette conference.
Despite the forfeit, JV2 stepped up and went up against West Albany. This is one of the first times JV2 will have the varsity game experience! They made it worth their while and ended up winning 28-14.
This game was one for the books. JV2 said they had so much fun and can't wait to go up against Mckay on October 9th. Don't forget to show up, be loud, and support our panthers in any upcoming games.
